I am Mona Chaudhry, an Indian wedding photographer in Orlando, Florida. I have photographed more than 500 weddings over more than twenty years, and most of them have been Indian and South Asian celebrations.

I know how these weddings work. I know the order of the events, what each ritual needs, and how the days build on each other. I know where to stand during the baraat, when a ceremony needs me close and quiet, when to give clear direction for family portraits, and when to step back and let a moment happen on its own. That comes from doing this work for a long time, and from paying attention.

The celebrations

Most of the Indian weddings I photograph are multi-day celebrations: the puja, mehndi, haldi, and sangeet before the wedding day, then the baraat, the ceremony, and the reception. Each event has its own pace and purpose, and I plan the photography around how that particular celebration is structured. I work with your planner and your family so portraits and group photographs are organized and do not take over the day.

What families tell me most often is that the day felt calm. That is deliberate. I direct when direction helps, and the rest of the time I stay out of the way.

Traditions photographed

I photograph Hindu, Sikh, Muslim, and Christian weddings, including Gujarati and South Indian celebrations, and fusion weddings where two traditions are part of one celebration. I understand the main ceremonies and the smaller moments around them, including the vidaai at the end, when a bride says goodbye to her family. You will not need to explain your traditions to me, and your day will not have to slow down so I can keep up.

Orlando venues photographed

I photograph Indian weddings across Orlando and Central Florida, including the venues where my couples celebrate most often: the Waldorf Astoria Orlando, Gaylord Palms, the Omni Orlando Resort at ChampionsGate, and the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress. I know each of these resorts well: their ballrooms, their grounds, and how the light works there across a long wedding day.
